The flowers of many Viburnum are highly fragranced so are fabulous when planted by a pathway or entrance where they can be fully appreciated.

Viburnum can be used as an informal hedge and are tolerant of partial shade. They are best suited to moist, well-drained and moderately fertile soil which can be achieved by adding good quality compost.

Vibranium are very easy to care for and only need minimal pruning to remove any unwanted growth. This should be done in mid-summer after flowering.

Viburnum opulus Roseum is a large bushy deciduous shrub with green foliage that turns red in autumn. Huge ball-shaped, creamy white flowers in spring. Height can reach up to 4m

The Viburnum Opulus Roseum, also known as the Snowball Bush, is a beautiful deciduous shrub renowned for its large, round clusters of white to pale pink flowers that resemble snowballs. Blooming in late spring, these stunning flower clusters gradually turn from green to pure white, adding a dramatic focal point to any garden. In autumn, the foliage transforms into a vibrant mix of red and orange, offering seasonal interest beyond its flowering period. This shrub is perfect for mixed borders, hedges, or as a standalone specimen plant.

Where to Position Your Viburnum Opulus Roseum

Viburnum Opulus Roseum thrives best in full sun to partial shade, where it will produce the most abundant flowers. It prefers moist, well-drained soil but can tolerate a range of soil types, including clay and heavy soils. This versatile shrub is suitable for various garden settings and can handle both urban pollution and exposure to coastal winds. Regular watering, especially during dry spells, will ensure healthy growth and vibrant foliage.

Growth and Maintenance

Viburnum Opulus Roseum is a vigorous grower, typically reaching up to 3-4 metres in height and spread. To maintain its shape and encourage healthy flowering, prune the shrub immediately after the flowering period in late spring or early summer. This allows the plant to develop new growth for the next year's blooms. Removing any dead or damaged wood during the dormant season will also help keep the plant in good condition.
