How to Grow and Look after your Ginkgo

Grow in all soils, heavy clay, loam or light soil but the best is sandy soils. They do need full sun. They can tolerate light shade.

They are deep rooted and resistant to wind and snow.

Prune in late winter or early spring to remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches. Minimal pruning is needed, as ginkgos naturally develop an attractive pyramidal or columnar shape.

Apply a slow-release fertilizer in early spring for optimal growth.
