Fruit Trees

Fruit trees

Ever wanted to pick your own fruit, then fruit trees are for you. With a range of Apples, Plums, Peaches, Pears and even Cherries then there is something for every palate. Check the product descriptions to see if they are self-fertile trees or if you'll need to buy them a friend for reliable fruiting.

Homegrown Produce: Enjoy fresh, organic fruits like apples, pears, cherries, plums, and more. Save money and reduce food miles by growing your own fruit.

Beautiful Blooms: Most fruit trees produce stunning flowers in spring, adding ornamental value to the garden.

Wildlife Benefits: Blossoms attract pollinators like bees, and fruits provide food for birds and insects.

Seasonal Interest: Many fruit trees offer multi-seasonal appeal with spring flowers, summer fruits, and autumnal foliage.

Compact Options for Small Gardens: Dwarf and Espalier varieties can thrive in smaller spaces or even containers.

Where to site your Fruit trees

  • Orchard Style:
    • Plant multiple trees in a dedicated fruit-growing area.
  • Mixed Borders:
    • Combine fruit trees with flowering perennials for beauty and productivity.
  • Wildlife Gardens:
    • Include fruit trees to provide nectar, pollen, and food for local fauna.
  • Patios and Small Gardens:
    • Use dwarf or espalier trees for decorative and productive features.

How to grow and look after your Fruit trees

  • Sunlight: Fruit trees need at least 6–8 hours of sunlight daily for healthy growth and good fruit production.
  • Soil: Well-drained soil is essential. Most fruit trees prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6–7).
  • Shelter: Plant in a sheltered spot to protect against strong winds, which can damage blossoms and young fruits.
  • Prune fruit trees annually in winter (for structure) or summer (for size control and fruiting spurs).
  • Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain good airflow.
  • Thin fruits in early summer if branches are overloaded to improve fruit size and prevent strain.
