How to grow and look after your Fruit trees

  • Sunlight: Fruit trees need at least 6–8 hours of sunlight daily for healthy growth and good fruit production.
  • Soil: Well-drained soil is essential. Most fruit trees prefer slightly acidic to neutral soil (pH 6–7).
  • Shelter: Plant in a sheltered spot to protect against strong winds, which can damage blossoms and young fruits.
  • Prune fruit trees annually in winter (for structure) or summer (for size control and fruiting spurs).
  • Remove dead, damaged, or crossing branches to maintain good airflow.
