Its common name is due to its large, rounded leaves, is a hardy perennial plant. It is prized for its evergreen foliage and clusters of pink, white, or purple flowers that bloom in early spring. 

How to grow your Bergenia

Prefers partial shade but can tolerate full sun in cooler climates in well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. It thrives in slightly acidic to neutral soil. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in spring to encourage growth and flowering. Remove spent flowers and damaged or old leaves to maintain appearance throughout the season.
