Forsythia are deciduous shrubs with rough grey-brown bark, simple small leaflets and an abundance of short tubular yellow flowers borne before the leaves in spring.  

This a great all rounder shrub, beautiful colour adds a great back drop to a mixed flower border.

Plant as part of a mixed flower border, in a big enough space where the flowers can be full appreciated.

How to Grow and Look After your Forsythia

Although the plant is not particularly fussy, they will appreciate a spot in full sun or partial shade and a moist, well-drained soil.

To avoid your plant becoming a monster, cut back the branches that have flowered back to a pair of strong buds just after they have finished blooming.
